Chinmay is an accomplished data science professional with 9 years of experience across bank, fin-tech, retailer and consulting industry. He holds the experience of working with traditional data sources as well on alternate data sources with new-age technologies. He also has varied experience on different pillars within a data science team – business analytics, data-driven products, data infrastructure and solution architect, BIU and ML / AI practices for predictive modelling.
Currently, he is leading Data Science team at PayU where he has been instrumental in building data-platform for pay-later / credit product – LazyPay from scratch. Starting with entire cloud transformation, and setting up data warehouse for daily 1.5Mn payment gateway transactions, he laid down scalable infrastructure for various data products, data pipelines and business analytics. He followed up with in-house Credit Risk Engine, Bureau integrations, ML platform, data enrichment from external sources, Recommendation Engine, BI tools and analytics for consumer insight.
For PayU, most of this brain-child data-driven products and projects are lifeline for its LazyPay credit product which differentiates itself with advanced understanding customers’ digital behaviour for instant credit offering at merchant checkout.
