A transformational visionary, Thameem Kamaldeen, is the Managing Director – Signalling and Infrastructure at Alstom India. This portfolio comes under the umbrella of Digital and Integrated Systems group of Alstom. Under his able leadership, the innovation hub in India has evolved to be one of the largest product development & engineering centers that contributes to a third of Alstom R&D allocation.
In his current role, he oversees critical business functions such as P&L management of the signalling business, project management, operations, product development, apart from ensuring overall operational excellence.
In the past 10 years at Alstom, Thameem has played a pivotal role in growing the digital mobility and product development business by delivering 95% of engineering turnkey projects for APAC region out of India. Along with increasing the team strength from 160 to 3500+ employees,he established the hub as a ‘Global Centre of Competence ’ for state-of-the-art technologies. He was one of the 15 talents selected across Alstom worldwide to participate in Alstom’s Accelerated Management Programme a few years ago.
Before joining Alstom, he was leading the Bombardier Transportation Engineering Centre and overseeing R&D for over 14 countries. He was also associated with renowned organizations such as Cyient, Tata Infotech and Aptech in his previous roles.
An engineer by education, he completed his BE in Electronics and Communications at Madras University and is also a PMI certified project management professional. He has keen interest and practices music and culinary arts.
