A Chartered Accountant with a passion for technology having in-depth business process understanding of various industry verticals like Oil & Gas, IT, KPO, FMCG, Real Estate & Retail; having managed business applications (ERP, Analytics, Mobility, CRM, etc.) for large enterprises.
His early years in finance & accounts exposed him to intricacies of financial management across different accounting functions. His stints at companies like GAIL, Infosys, Marico, Reliance, Aegis (Essar Group) & Godrej gave him an opportunity to work with some of the most enterprising leaders in the industry and helped him learn the importance of people management in leadership roles.
In his recent role as Head – IT for Godrej Properties, Vineet is responsible to deliver innovative technology solution for real estate industry, focus on developing and mentoring right IT organizations, developing & executing IT strategies relevant to the organization and building an enterprise architecture that is “Secure”, “Scalable” and “Time-relevant”. He demonstrates strong leadership and managerial skills, great client relationship, ability to work closely with process owners and key stakeholders to communicate progress and vision and facilitates buy-in from all entities. As head of IT, his job role involves interacting with many people from different functions and backgrounds, from the business heads of various companies to his team members from different companies within the Group. Some of the notable achievements:-
- Implementation of SAP BW & Business Objects for providing real time analytics reports to middle management as well as Dashboards of relevant KPIs for top management.
- Implementation of IBM Cognos TM1 for financial planning – Annual Operating plan & Long range planning
- Championed use of IT to drive business alignment and process simplification. SAP implementation enabled transformation of the organization from regional operations to a single entity.
- Implementing IT enabled Business Solutions & Services for the Enterprise like VR/AR, Artificial Intelligence & Cloud Computing.
Just before taking over as Head-IT for Godrej Properties, Vineet was a part of the Godrej Corporate IT Team and was responsible for managing business applications for three group companies viz; Godrej Properties, Godrej Industries & Natures Basket. Some of the key achievements in that role were: –
- Group wide consolidation of IT infrastructure was undertaken saving 40% on networking, 50% on Datacenter infrastructure apart from obtaining high level of manageability and vendor visibility.
- Outsourcing of the IT infrastructure for the entire group of 5 companies, saving on the then costing considerably.
- Managing Corporate Application – Intranet, Work Applications for Godrej group of companies. Legacy Applications upgraded to mobile platform in the form of container Apps for iOS & Android.
- Consolidation of IT procurement was undertaken resulting in considerable savings. This was in infrastructure as well as software licensing.
Vineet has a rich experience of large ERP Implementation projects and it all started when he was introduced to SAP during his first job in GAIL (India) Ltd, one of the prestigious Navratna PSU. After successful implementation of SAP at GAIL where he was a core team member, he moved to an Indian MNC, Marico. In Marico, he was responsible for managing SAP Applications and carried out some interesting projects like New GL Migration, SAP Implementation at Marico South Africa and Implementation of IBM Cognos. He then moved to Aegis Ltd, an Essar group Company. Another challenging assignment of SAP Implementation at Aegis Australia was managed by him.
Vineet had the opportunity to work in diverse companies that allowed him the liberty to work in various IT domains including software development, ERP Implementation, Knowledge Process Outsourcing, information security, manpower management and vendor management. A firm believer in the fact that IT forms the backbone of businesses, Vineet advocates for more powers for the CIOs and IT heads. Businesses have changed, and as IT heads they have an important role to play in driving business for the company, he feels.
Other than IT, Vineet has interest in Music and would like to learn to play drums sometime in his life. Vineet is married to Pooja and enjoys work life balance as he spends quality time with his two kids, Aryan & Aishani.
