Zuzar Tinwalla is the Chief Operating Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, India and Retail Banking, India. In a
career spanning 30 years, Zuzar has pioneered and administered a full range of corporate and retail products,
channels and service capabilities.
Zuzar was previously the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Standard Chartered Bank, India from 2015 and was
appointed to the role of COO, India in March 2019.
Zuzar has been focused on finding innovative ways to leverage digital solutions to enable growth and scale;
pioneered unique product propositions through a customer centric approach; embedded analytics to drive
powerful decision making; optimized costs by driving efficiencies and productivity; strengthened foundations in
risk and control and worked towards building an innovation mindset and a customer centric, business co-creator
culture within Information Technology and Operations.
Zuzar received the prestigious “Best CIO of the Year” award at the Information Technology Innovation &
Excellence Awards 2017 organized by the Computer Society of India (CSI), and was felicitated with the Global
Great Managers Award by the Standard Chartered Group CEO in 2008.
Zuzar is extremely passionate about supporting humanitarian projects to create a positive, real-world impact.
Zuzar holds the Limca National Record for ‘Fastest South-North Four-Wheeler Expedition,’ from Kanyakumari
(southernmost point of India) to Leh (northernmost point of India), 3900 kilometers which he covered in 62.2
hours against the previous record of 72.47 hours. The same result-oriented approach, energy and drive guide all

Zuzar is married and has a loving wife and son.
